“An Egyptian novelist, short story writer, and translator, born in Cairo in 1978, he works as an architect and holds a master’s degree in business administration and interior architecture. He co-founded Diwan Publishing House and the Naguib Mahfouz Project, and launched the podcast “”In the Diwan,”” which discusses the creative economy and successful experiences in the creative industries. He won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award in the Authors’ Category for his novel “”Summer Rains”” (2018), the Best Novel Award from the Egyptian General Book Authority for his novel “”A Last Call for Passengers”” (2019), and the Katara Prize for the Arabic Novel for his novel “”Heirs of the Al Sheikh Family”” (2021).
