Born in Assiut, he holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Assiut University and works as an engineer at the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company.
He won first prize at the Sawy Culture Wheel Short Story Festival in 2009 for his story “To Be Alone at Home”.
