“An Egyptian short story writer and novelist, born on March 19, 1974, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Cairo University and works at the Cultural Palaces Authority.

He began publishing his stories and articles on heritage and criticism in Egyptian and Arab newspapers and magazines, such as Al-Ahram, Akhbar Al-Adab, Doha, Al-Arabi (Kuwait), and Turath (Emirati). He has published several short story collections, including A Snake Searching for a Comb, A Door to Enter, Steps of an Old Staircase, and Tales of Amazement. He also has published a children’s novel, Splitting the Moon, and prose and biographical books, such as Pockets Full of Joy and Clothespins, and Beautiful and Brown, about the artist Madiha Yousry.

He has won numerous literary awards for short stories, novels, and theater, including the Ihsan Abdel Quddous Award, the Arab Writers Union Award, the Ghassan Kanafani Novel Award, the Tunis Novel Award (2020), and the Arab Theater Authority Award, in addition to more than twenty awards and honors in Egypt and abroad.”
