Jeff Lindsay

He is an American author specializing in crime and thriller fiction, recognized as one of the most prominent names in the genre thanks to his Dexter novel series, which achieved widespread fame and inspired successful dramatic adaptations.

He graduated from Middlebury College in 1975 and also studied at the Celebration Mime Theatre’s clown school that same year, before earning two Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degrees in Directing and Playwriting from Carnegie Mellon University. Throughout his career, he has written more than 25 stage plays that have been produced and performed.

His professional experience is remarkably diverse; he has worked as a musician, singer, actor, comedian, and television host, in addition to his work in improvisational theater—all of which is reflected in his unique narrative style.

In some of his early works, he collaborated with his wife, the author Hilary Hemingway. Jeff Lindsay resides in Florida, USA, where he continues to write crime fiction, solidifying his status as one of the leading contemporary thriller writers.
