Dr. Ahmed Khaled Tawfik
Ahmed Khaled Tawfik (June 10, 1962 – April 2, 2018) was an Egyptian university professor, doctor, writer, author, and translator. He is considered the first Arab writer in the genre of horror literature. And, best known for for his work in young adult literature, fantasy, and science fiction. He has been nicknamed “The Godfather.”
His literary journey began with the “Ma Waraa Al-Tabi’a” (paranormal) series, and Although horror literature was not widely popular at the time, the series achieved great success and was well-received by readers. This encouraged him to continue writing, leading to the release of the “Fantasia” series in 1995 and “Safari” series in 1996, followed by the “WWW” series in 2006.
Ahmed Tawfik wrote several novels that achieved widespread popularity, the most famous being “Utopia” in 2008, which was translated into several languages and re-published in later years. Other notable works include “Al-Singa” (2012), “Just Like Icarus” (2015), and “In the rat Lane” (2016), along with other works such as “Burnable Notes,” “A Mind Without a Body,” and “Now We Open the Box,” which was released in three parts.
