Amr El-Adly
Amr El-Adly is an Egyptian novelist and short story writer. He holds a Master’s degree in Literary Sociology from Ain Shams University. He has published seven short story collections, including: “The Tale of Youssef Idris”, which won the Sawiris Award for Senior Writers; “Escape Outside the Head”, which won first place in the Tayeb Salih International Award for Creative Writing; “The Heater Seller”; and the short story collection “And”. He has also published ten novels, including: “The Visit”, which won the State Encouragement Award in Literature; “The Unholy Family’s Journey”, which won the Writers’ Union Award; “My Name is Fatima”, which was longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award; and one children’s novel, “The Lamp and the Bottle”, which was also longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award. He has also published the novels “Schindler’s Catalog”, “Ghassan Kanafani’s Men”, “The Glass Lady”, “Maryam and Nermin”, and “The White Stars Agency”.
