Kayan

The novel centers on a divorced mother who chooses to care for her withdrawn son over her career; consequently, her manager transfers her to a remote branch for her own protection. She relocates and enrolls her son in a school housed in an old mansion, only to discover later—via the internet—that the school is actually abandoned and haunted. Rushing to the mansion to save her son, she confronts horrors that gradually reveal her dark secret: she is obsessed with her late father and has offered her son as a sacrifice to Satan in a black magic ritual intended to bring her father back to life. The shocking twist is that the son had been dead all along, and she had been living in a state of denial regarding his death. The novel concludes with her escape from the mansion, yet instead of repenting, she returns to her books of magic, determined to try again.
